Trilingual report design
The 2000-year old Lion of Al-Lāt statue that once watched over the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria, heavily damaged by violent extremists in 2015, stands proudly once again.
It was restored thanks to UNESCO's Emergency Safeguarding of the Syrian Cultural Heritage project, funded by the European Union. The restoration undertaken lasted two months.
